Assignment 3 - Using Dreamweaver

UPDATE : I will show you how I do the assignment 3 by using dreamweaver .There will be couple of steps taken in this process.

I'll be using this oval-shaped button in my page.

And this is the layout for my part.

As the first step,i put Text on the button and add some shadow on it

Next, with using the same button and Text,i create another design for the Text.It looks nicer from the webview because when i hover the mouse over the Text,it will glow.To use this feature in dreamweaver,u just go to Insert > Image Objects > Rollover Image.

Now, i create one table and put the 3 buttons i've done earlier
and aligned it to the right .
This is how it looks when i click one of the button.
I also do some editing to the photos for each resorts.

Assignment 3 - Pulau Kapas

Description on the individual link (Accommodation)

This individual link is created to introduce the accommodation or places to stay in Pulau Kapas to viewers. There will be some pictures of places and its purpose is to guide viewers when they come to Pulau Kapas . Descriptions for each place is also provided.

Objective of the link

The main objective of this link is to promote hotels, resorts and chalets in Pulau Kapas to the viewers especially foreign tourists because they love to travel around the world just to find a nice and comfortable place to stay and it has become a routine for them.Furthermore this link is created to promote Malaysia to the world so we can at least make one contribution for our country.

Design of GUI

This is the initial layout for my group's website. On the top of the left side, it will be our group logo. Beside the logo, it is my group's designed banner and other subtopic banners. There will be 6 buttons below the banner. Each button represents different links and each links will be design by our different member. So it gonna show out different style of our group member. Below the button, it will be the content. So when you click on the different button, it will show up different content. And the content will based on the subtopic present it out. The content will be presented with words, image, flash and video. Below the content, it is the signature of my group (copyrighted).

So this is the layout that i'm going to use as my individual site page (Accommodation). When the viewers click on the button of accommodation, this layout will be coming out. The top of the left side is our group logo. On the right,it will be the subtopic banner for each of the site page. Below the banner, it will be the button for other links. I'm going to put flash or video inside my individual site which is located at the left side of the content. The right side will be 3 button which are the name of places so stay. When viewers click on one of them, they will get more infos therefore they can choose which one of the 3 places they want to stay.Below the content, there will be always our group's signature (copyrighted).

This is out flowchart of my individual site.

My Personal Website

Now i'm updating my personal website on this blog. It's been a long time since i updated my blog.So now it's time to get serious!

The 5 buttons for my site are :-

  • Home
  • Biography
  • Blog
  • Interest
  • Contact

I choose 5 red buttons and put texts on them .

First open Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 and under Create New, click on HTML.Then Click on Site and then New Site. I changed the Site Name and change the Local Site Folder where my index is located.

Click Table and choose Rows:1 and Columns:1

I choose black wood background because it's comfortable to look at and its not messy .The banner is randomly chosen,i hope you'll like it xD

This is how my biography looks like .I linked it to Word.html.So it is why  it has plain white background :)

My Interest.

And lastly,my contact.
So that's all for assignment 2 project . I will update my blog for the next project .Coming soon.....

Advance Layering / e-Wallpaper

Today I will start doing advance layering and finish  the assignment 1 Digital Media (e-wallpaper).

Actually I want to alter some design (changing the font, etc) from the previous entry to make more nicer and appropriate to the subject.

My design from the previous entry.

So now i'll show you what changes I will make .

First thing I do is resizing the mascot icon and place it a bit more higher and i also use another type of fonts. After that I make the letter 'O' and MMU icon glow by using the Gradient Editor

Then I add 1 picture and set the Fill Opacity to 63%

So this how it looks now .Basically there's nothing much to change,I just want to satisfy myself with my own design :P .

Lab 3 & 4 "Retouching & Enhancing"

This time i'll do photo retouching & enhancing .

The first thing to do is to change the mascot's position by using the right click and click 'Flip Horizontal' . I also have changed the size of 'TM' from big to small size and place it at the upper right.

After that,i make the background darker by going to Image>Adjustments>Curves.I also add the 'FOM Open day' by clicking Text

I add some lighting effects at the mmu building.Go to Filter>Render>Lighting Effects

Lastly i add some 3D effects on the mascot and text by clicking twice at the layer and select 'Bevel and Emboss'

Qimi Chalet

Qimi Chalet is a simple chalet resort with a nice restaurant on the beach. Qimi chalet has six accommodation options, ranging from the simple Bamboo chalet to its luxurious VIP Kemboja Chalet, also called the stone house. The former provides the basic necessities for two, queen sized bed, mosquito net, fan and attached bathroom. The latter is a fully furnished chalet with a queen size bed, air-conditions, fan, indoor bathroom with a bathtub, an open air shower and a sea view balcony.

The food is one of the biggest draws to this place. Simple and tasty, dine at the open air beachfront eatery with sand and sea breeze to boot. It is also one of the few places that serves fresh fish (RM40). The restaurant is open for outside guests, but priority is given for people who stay in the chalets and a reservation is essential. Just drop by in the afternoon and order your food. Wine costs RM70. You can bring your own beer, for example from KBC further south.

The chalet offers the standard packages for snorkeling, kayaking, scuba diving, jungle trekking and island tour. The resort grounds look a bit neglected, but are clean.
Located somewhat away from the sardine-packed (for Pulau Kapas standards) accommodation options south of the island, this is ideal for travelers who seek even more tranquility.

Layer Basics

So this week i'll do the layer basics .This time the process is much easier than the previous one .lets do it now!

As the first step,i go to the filter gallery and choose Poster Edges and apply it on the MMU building.this is only a basic step and my purpose is to make the picture look more artistic i guess :P

This is the new picture i choose from the internet. The pyramid makes a perfect background for my work.

After that,i apply the pyramid and use it as the background .Don't you think it is more beautiful now? hehe

Now what else i wanna do? .I don't really have any idea now so i randomly pick 'Curves' by going to Image > Adjustments > Curves .Now you can see the color is more beautiful than the previous one .

And this is the final product =D

I've made one more picture as for my collections. Thanks for reading.
